Firozi Pure Bhagalpuri Tussar Ghicha Saree with Hand-Embroidered Roses

A pure tussar ghicha saree from Bhagalpur in firozi, the clear turquoise blue that sits between green and sky. Small roses are embroidered by hand and scattered across the body, with plenty of open fabric between them, so the work stays light and the texture of the silk shows.

Ghicha is spun from the rough outer part of the tussar cocoon, which gives the fabric its slightly uneven, raw texture and the fine streaks you can see running through it. You can see and feel the hand in it. Against that matte surface, the embroidered roses stand out cleanly.

The fabric has body and holds its pleats well, but it is not heavy, so it is easy to wear through a long day. A bright, happy colour for daytime festivities, pujas, family functions and dinners where you want something different from silk and zari. There is only one of this saree.

Silk, hand block printed crepe: 
Georgette and chiffon pieces too. Dry clean only. Store folded in a soft cotton or muslin cloth, away from direct sunlight and humidity, zari reacts badly to moisture and to synthetic storage bags. Keep perfume, deodorant, and hair oil away from the border and pallu. Refold along different creases every couple of months. Iron on reverse, or with a thin cotton cloth over the zari, on low heat.

Cotton:  
Hand wash cold, separately, for the first few washes. Don't wring, gently press out the water and dry flat or on a padded hanger, out of direct sun. Iron on the reverse side while slightly damp, medium heat. Store folded in a cotton or muslin cloth, away from humidity.

No returns or refunds for a change of mind. Exchange only for a manufacturing defect, reported within 7 days of delivery with a photo or video. Remedy is an exchange, or a refund if a suitable exchange isn't possible. If fall-hemming has been added, that piece is stitched to your measurements and is no longer eligible for exchange.

Handloom pieces vary slightly from each other and from the photos. That's part of being handwoven, not a defect, and screen colour can look different from the piece in hand depending on lighting. Why won't this come back once it's sold?
Because nothing here is made twice. A weaver doesn't reweave a piece to match, they move on to the next one. So once something sells, it's gone, not "notify me," not "coming soon," just gone.

Weavers and block printers we've worked with directly, over calls, in Varanasi, Lucknow, Bhagalpur, Kashmir, and Madhya Pradesh. Every piece is chosen by hand before it's ever photographed.
